Resume
Attach your resume to the back of your photos at all times. Print your resume on good quality paper that can stand up to handling. Trim your resume to fit the 8x10″ size of your photo.
How to write a resume
Put your name on the top of the paper (centre or left). Do not forget to write your height and your hair and eye color. Put contact information but not your address. Do not list your jobs chronologically. Tell about the work you have done and with whom you have studied. List your credits first (give the name of the play, your role and who produced it). Usually the order is theatre-credits, film-credits, television-credits.
If you do commercials state only whether you have been an on-camera and/or voice-over performer and whether you have a commercial reel or tape. Do not list the products.
Your training should be the next category (where you studied, with whom and for how long). Then tell about your education. List your special skills next (languages you speak, dialects, musical instruments, expert on anything, etc.) and get a separate listing for sports. The information should fit neatly on one side of one page. Usually 11pt font size for text and 24pt for your name is OK. Use bold typeface for category titles (Credits, Training, Education, Special skills, Sports).

Copies
If the print quality of your computer printer is poor or you do not own a printer, you can save the letter on a floppy disk and take it to a copy place.
Stationary & Envelopes
When you are submitting a headshot and resume, it is important to include a cover letter explaining why you are submitting them. Write this letter on your computer and print it out on good quality stationary. It does not have to be very expensive. It just needs to be attractive and professional.
A heavyweight 9x12″ manila envelope is perfect.
Mailing Labels
Typed mailing labels look much better. Print also a good supply of labels that say "Photograph - Please Do Not Bend" and place one on the lower right hand corner of every photo and resume package you send. Office supply stores have selections of labels that will work with any computer printers or typewriters.
Mailing
Include always a cover letter when submitting your resume and photo to a casting director, agent, etc.
